Peugeot Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Petrol in a Diesel Peugeot is a usual error. And what you need to do about it will depend on a variety of things. If you want to find out what to do about it then keep on reading.
Right here are the most important factors to keep in mind whenever making a decision whether or not to have it drained:

  1. What level of Petrol did you put in the Peugeot, taking into account that the fuel capacity of your Peugeot 607 HDi is usually approximately 80 litres?
    1. A small amount of Petrol, something like 4 litres of Petrol in a Diesel 607 HDi will in most cases not really be a big problem. Experience has taught us that quantities under 4 litres (close to 5% of the overall fuel tank capacity) is in many instances capable of being completely diluted through totally filling the tank with the correct fuel.
It is quite uncommon to come across an automobile going through issues because of lower than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Keep in mind that it's rare - certainly not impossible to encounter. You can get a few motor vehicles that will not stand any level of contamination at all.
    2. In between 4 and 8 litres of Petrol in the Peugeot (5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 situation. Our practical experience has revealed that as many drivers get away with this as those people who break down. When you are deciding whether or not to risk it and just simply fill it up consider that it is very much like gambling it all on black - you have a 50/50 possibility of it working out.
    3. Anything over 8 litres of Petrol in a Diesel 607 HDi must promptly be drained out seeing that your probability of getting away with this level of contamination is undoubtedly lower than one in fifty - really huge odds.
  2. Put Petrol in a Diesel Peugeot and drove it: Have you noticed any performance problems as a result of putting the wrong fuel in your 607 HDi? In that case, have it drained regardless of the amount of Petrol or even the contamination percentage. Still running a car that is beginning to suffer from the effects of wrong fuel contamination will typically bring about even more harm affecting your fuel system components.
  3. Do you need security?
Simply get it removed. Regardless of the contamination ratio, there is invariably a certain level of threat caused by driving a Diesel motor on fuel contaminated with the wrong fuel. Likely outcomes of driving on the incorrect fuel include things like the engine not starting, running lumpy, losing power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn out or bunged injectors, and the like. These are some of the most typical Petrol in Diesel symptoms, and should you notice any of them cease driving and get it removed right now.

Do not simply have any untrained so-and-so to try to repair your automobile. We are Peugeot specialists and have the qualifications and experience required to ensure that you get back on the road with minimal hassle or worry.

Putting Super Unleaded, or Shell V-Power, BP Ultimate Unleaded, etc, will have the exact same effect as putting regular unleaded petrol in your diesel car and will need to be drained out and flushed.

Will getting you to do a fuel drain void my warranty?

Answer

No! The EU Block Exemption Regulations clearly state that "the work can be carried out by as long as that garage uses manufacturer approved parts and correctly follows the manufacturer's service schedule."

Can I top it up with Diesel and add some 2-stroke oil?

Answer

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
