Mitsubishi Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Petrol in a Diesel Mitsubishi is a common mistake. And exactly what you have to do about it is based on a few factors. Assuming you would like to know what you have to do to fix it then keep reading.
Here are the most crucial variables to consider whenever figuring out whether to get a fuel drain:

  1. How much Petrol did you put in the Mitsubishi, keeping in mind that the fuel tank capacity of your Mitsubishi L200 DI-D is probably about 75 litres?
    1. A small quantity of Petrol, as little as 3.75 litres of Petrol in a Diesel L200 DI-D will normally not really be a big problem. Experience has proven to us that quantities less than 3.75 litres (which is 5% of the total fuel tank capacity) is oftentimes able to be sufficiently diluted through completely topping up the rest of the tank with the correct fuel.
It's pretty uncommon to come across a motor vehicle suffering from problems because of under 5% wrong fuel contamination. Be aware that it is very infrequent - certainly not impossible to encounter. There are certain motor vehicles that won't stand any level of contamination in the slightest.
    2. Between 3.75 and 7.5 litres of Petrol in the Mitsubishi (5 to 10%) is a 50/50 condition. Our practical experience has proven that as many drivers get away with this as all those who break down. Whenever figuring out whether or not to chance it and basically top it up bear in mind that it is much like wagering it all on black - you've got a 50/50 chance of it being ok.
    3. Anything in excess of 7.5 litres of Petrol in your Diesel L200 DI-D really should as soon as possible be drained seeing that your likelihood of succeeding with this amount of contamination is very likely below one in 50 - definitely big odds.
  2. Put Petrol in a Diesel Mitsubishi and drove it: Have you noted any kind of performance troubles ever since putting the incorrect fuel in the L200 DI-D? In that case, have it removed irrespective of the volume of Petrol or even the contamination percentage. Proceeding to drive driving an automobile that is now beginning to suffer from the consequences of wrong fuel contamination can likely result in more damage affecting your fuel system.
  3. Do you want security?
In that case get it removed. Regardless of the contamination ratio, there is inevitably some extent of risk resulting from driving a Diesel vehicle on fuel contaminated with Petrol. Likely implications of driving on the wrong fuel can include the motor refusing to start, running lumpy, losing power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, damaged or bunged injectors, etc. These are several of the most typical Petrol in Diesel signs and symptoms, and should you detect any of them stop driving and have it removed right away.
