Mercedes Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Petrol in a Diesel Mercedes is a regular problem. And what you want to do about it is based on several different factors. If perhaps you want to find out what it is best to do to sort it out then continue reading.
These are the most important variables to take into consideration when determining whether to have it drained:

  1. How much Petrol did you put into the Mercedes, taking into consideration that the fuel capacity of your Mercedes V 220 CDI Trend is normally about 78 litres?
    1. A modest quantity of Petrol, less than 3.9 litres of Petrol in a Diesel V 220 CDI Trend will more often than not not be a big problem. Experience has taught us that anything less than 3.9 litres (almost 5% of the whole fuel tank volume) is generally able to be completely diluted simply by entirely filling up the tank with Diesel.
It is very unusual to come across a motor vehicle having difficulties because of under 5% wrong fuel contamination. Keep in mind it is very unusual - in no way impossible to encounter. You can get a number of motor vehicles that don't endure any quantity of fuel contamination whatsoever.
    2. Anywhere between 3.9 and 7.8 litres of Petrol in the Mercedes (from 5 to 10%) is a 50/50 situation. Our working experience has confirmed that as many motorists get away with this as those who don't. Whenever trying to decide whether or not to chance it and basically fill it up remember that it is very much like wagering your car on black - you have a 50/50 chance of it working.
    3. Anything in excess of 7.8 litres of Petrol in your Diesel V 220 CDI Trend must straight away be drained out as your likelihood of driving with this amount of contamination is certainly lower than one in 50 - definitely long odds.
  2. Put Petrol in a Diesel Mercedes and drove it: Have you noted any performance troubles as a result of putting the incorrect fuel in the V 220 CDI Trend? If that's the case, have it removed irrespective of the quantity of Petrol or the contamination percentage. Continuing to run driving a vehicle that is already beginning to suffer the effect of wrong fuel contamination can typically bring about progressively more harm being caused to the fuel system.
  3. Would you like security?
In that case get it removed. Regardless of contamination ratio, there is invariably some extent of danger linked with running a Diesel motor on Diesel contaminated with Petrol. Possible implications of driving on the wrong fuel include things like the motor not starting, running unevenly, lack of power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn or bunged injectors, etc. These are several of the commonest Petrol in Diesel warning signs, and should you recognise any of them cease driving and get it removed immediately.

Avoid getting any jack-of-all-trades to try to fix your car. We are Mercedes experts and hold the certification and knowledge required to ensure that you are back on the road with no hassle or trouble.
