Mitsubishi Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Diesel in a Petrol Mitsubishi is a regular mistake. And exactly what you have to do about it will depend on several different factors. If perhaps you would like to know what it is best to do to fix it then keep on reading.
Listed here the most important variables to take into consideration when making a decision whether or not to have the car drained:

  1. What amount of Diesel have you put in the Mitsubishi, considering that the fuel tank capacity of the Mitsubishi Space Gear is most likely around 66 litres?
    1. A modest amount of Diesel, something like 3.3 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Space Gear will generally not necessarily be a huge problem. Experience has proven to us that quantities less than 3.3 litres (approximately 5% of the fuel tank capacity) is quite often capable of being sufficiently diluted through entirely topping up the tank with Petrol.
It is highly unusual to encounter a vehicle going through issues with less than 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Remember that it is uncommon - definitely not impossible to find. There are actually a number of motor vehicles that don't endure any level of fuel contamination whatsoever.
    2. Between 3.3 and 6.6 litres of Diesel in the Mitsubishi (from 5 to 10%) is a 50/50 scenario. Our experience has proven that as many motorists get away with this as those people who break down. When figuring out whether or not to risk it and just fill it up bear in mind that it is exactly like wagering everything on black - you have a 50/50 possibility of it working out.
    3. Anything more than 6.6 litres of Diesel in a Petrol Space Gear must right away be drained since your likelihood of getting away with this amount of contamination is more than likely less than one in 50 - definitely long odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Mitsubishi and drove it: Have you observed any kind of performance troubles as a result of putting the bad fuel in your Space Gear? If so, have it removed irrespective of the amount of Diesel or the contamination percentage. Proceeding to drive running an automobile that is currently beginning to suffer the effects of wrong fuel contamination will probably only lead to increasing amounts of harm affecting the fuel system components.
  3. Do you want peace of mind?
Then get it removed. Regardless of the contamination percentage, there is always some degree of threat affiliated with running a Petrol engine on Petrol contaminated with the wrong fuel. Possible consequences of driving on the wrong fuel can include the engine refusing to start, running lumpy, loss in power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn out or blocked injectors, and so forth. These are several of the most frequently seen Diesel in Petrol signs or symptoms, and if you notice any of them stop driving and have it removed asap.

Do not simply get any jack-of-all-trades to attend your vehicle. We are Mitsubishi experts and have got the skills and experience necessary to ensure you get back on the road with no hassle or trouble.

No! The EU Block Exemption Regulations clearly state that "the work can be carried out by as long as that garage uses manufacturer approved parts and correctly follows the manufacturer's service schedule."

Can I top it up with Petrol and add some 2-stroke oil?

Answer

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
