Mercedes Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Diesel in a Petrol Mercedes is a very common mistake to make. And its solution depends on a number of things. Assuming you want to find out what you ought to do about this then read on.
Listed here are the most important variables to keep in mind when determining whether or not to have your car drained:

  1. What level of Diesel did you put in to the Mercedes, considering that the fuel capacity of your Mercedes E63 AMG is probably around 80 litres?
    1. A modest quantity of Diesel, less than 4 litres of Diesel in a Petrol E63 AMG will typically not be a big problem. Experience has proven to us that anything less than 4 litres (which is almost 5% of the fuel tank capacity) is in many instances capable of being adequately diluted through completely topping up the rest of the tank with the correct fuel.
It's pretty uncommon to come across a motor vehicle having issues because of lower than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Please remember it is uncommon - not impossible to find. There are a few cars that won't endure any quantity of contamination at all.
    2. In between 4 and 8 litres of Diesel in the Mercedes (5 to 10%) is more of a 50/50 condition. Our practical experience has shown us that as many people get away with this as all those who don't. When you are deciding whether or not to chance it and just fill it up bear in mind that it is exactly like gambling your car on black - you have got a 50/50 chance of it working out.
    3. Anything over 8 litres of Diesel in your Petrol E63 AMG should promptly be drained seeing that your likelihood of succeeding with that quantity of contamination is very likely lower than one in fifty - really huge odds.
  2. Put some Diesel in a Petrol Mercedes and drove it: Have you spotted any performance issues since putting the incorrect fuel in the E63 AMG? If you have, have it emptied no matter the quantity of Diesel or the contamination percentage. Continually running a car that is currently beginning to suffer the effect of wrong fuel contamination will probably just cause increasing amounts of damage affecting the fuel system parts.
  3. Do you want reassurance?
In that case get it removed. Regardless of contamination percentage, there is invariably some degree of risk resulting from running a Petrol vehicle on Petrol contaminated with the wrong fuel. Probable implications of driving on the wrong fuel include the engine not starting, running lumpy, decrease in power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn out or blocked injectors, and so on. These are several of the most typical Diesel in Petrol signs and symptoms, and should you detect any of them cease driving and get it removed right away.
